HELLYEAH and CLUTCH Unite for North American Tour

Maryland rockers CLUTCH are teaming up with HELLYEAH for a North American Co-Headlining Tour this Spring. Both bands will play full headlining sets. The tour kicks off April 13th in Providence, RI and runs through May 11th in Joliet, IL. Throughout the tour there will also be dates that feature Clutch only and Hellyeah only as well as radio festivals and shows. A list of complete dates can be found below.

Hard rock supergroup HELLYEAH is touring in support of their new album Band of Brothers which is scheduled for a June 5th release in North America. The album, the band’s first effort for their new label home, Eleven Seven Music, was recorded in Dallas at drummer Vinnie Paul’s home studio, VP’s Upstairs Studio, and was produced by the band and Jeremy Parker (Godsmack, Evanessence), who also served as engineer.

Having produced track after track of heavy-hitting, in-your-face, feel good rock and roll on their previous two albums (2010′s STAMPEDE and 2007′s self-titled debut), Band of Brothers sees HELLYEAH taking a slightly different musical direction. Drawing on their former bands’ collective metal roots for inspiration, the influences and style of Mudvayne, Pantera, Damageplan and Nothingface are immediately recognizable. CLUTCH is hitting the road in support of their double vinyl edition of Blast Tyrant which is being released February 28th via Weathermaker Music. This 180+ gram expanded vinyl contains 16 songs and includes six mini-posters taken straight from Blast Tyrant’s “Atlas of the Invisible World”. Each illustrated poster is sized (8.5″ x 11″) and depicts one of the various characters featured within the Blast Tyrant storyline. Prior to February 28th, the double vinyl edition of Blast Tyrant is exclusively available via www.Clutchmerch.com. CLUTCH will also be releasing a picture disc single of the new track “Pigtown Blues” on April 24th. This is the first new studio material from CLUTCH since 2009′s Strange Cousins From the West.

CLUTCH will also be returning to Europe this festival season. The band has been confirmed for the Sonisphere Festival in Madrid Spain on May 26th and the Peace and Love Festival in Borlänge, Sweden on June 29th. Additional festival appearances are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

In other CLUTCH news, the band’s music will be featured in the soon to be released film “The Baytown Disco” starring Andre Braugher, Billy Bob Thornton, and Eva Longoria. Corey Taylor Talks SLIPKNOT, MUSHROOMHEAD, MUDVAYNE, GWAR Tour

It may be hard to believe but vocalist Corey Taylor says that not only is a SLIPKNOT/MUSHROOMHEAD tour possible, he’d also like to get MUDVAYNE and GWAR on board.

There’s always been animosity between the fans of SLIPKNOT and MUSHROOMHEAD. During one of the Q&As on Corey Taylor’s recent tour he was asked about the possibility of touring with MUSHROOMHEAD.

“I would welcome it. I’d love to do something like that, you know. Especially now. I think it’d beautiful to put something like that together and just see what f—ing happens – Slipknot, Mushroomhead, GWAR and f—ing Mudvayne. Because if it’s one thing I’ve learned, you don’t hold on to stupid s—, you let it go.”

ORGY Returns After Seven Year Hiatus For “BAD BLOOD TOUR 2012”

The multi-platinum band ORGY will be hitting the road for the first time since 2005 on their “Bad Blood Tour 2012,” set to kick off this Saturday, February 18 in Point Richmond, CA. The six-week trek, with support from Faultline, One-Eyed Doll, The Attitude and various local bands, will take the newly reformed band across the country with stops in Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, Minneapolis and Milwaukee, among many cities, before hitting New York City on Tuesday, March 6 at Irving Plaza. The band will then head south as they make their way back home for a show at The Key Club on the Sunset Strip Wednesday, March 21 before wrapping the tour in Tempe, AZ on Monday, April 2 (see full tour dates below). ORGY is currently in the studio recording new material, including a collaboration with Grammy Award-winning EDM artist Skrillex.

As the demand from fans for new music and a tour continued to grow over the past few years, founding member JAY GORDON (vocals) hand-selected guitarist CARLTON BOST (formerly with Elijah Blue Allman’s project Deadsy), guitarist ASHBURN MILLER (also from Deadsy), bassist NIC SPECK (from Run-Run-Run and George Lynch) and drummer JAMIE MILLER (formerly with Snot, The Start, And You Will Know Us From the Trail of Dead) to come together and carry on the ORGY name. The guys—who’ve all known each other from their previous projects—have mutual respect both professionally and creatively for one another and are excited to be working together.

The band (see short bio below) has also just launched their brand new website WWW.ORGYMUSIC.COM. Throughout the tour, the band will be posting videos, photos and tour blogs to the new site along with all their social media sites to keep the fans updated.

SLASH Reveals New Album Title And Cover Art

SLASH–the iconic, Grammy-winning rock guitarist and songwriter–has revealed the cover artwork and album title for his second studio album APOCALYPTIC LOVE. Due out May 22, the new album features Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators and will be released on SLASH’s own label Dik Hayd International and distributed through EMI. SLASH is currently in a Los Angeles studio putting the final touches on APOCALYPTIC LOVE. This week he announced his headlining U.S. tour will begin May 3 in Baltimore. Drummer Vinnie Paul Rejects PANTERA Reunion Offer

According to The Metal Den, Drummer Vinnie Paul (PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN, HELLYEAH) has rejected a lucrative offer to take part in a PANTERA reunion.

A source close to the camp Vinnie Paul Abbott that indeed a “large sum of money” has been put on the table to reunite him with surviving PANTERA members, vocalist Philip H. Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown for a one-off reunion/tribute event (with special fill-in guitarists), in honor of fallen brother and band mate, lead guitarist Darrell “Dimebag” Abbott, who was shot to death on stage while performing in a new project called DAMAGEPLAN on Dec 8th, 2004 at Alrosa villa nightclub in Columbus, Ohio.

Last year, one by one on Facebook, a small army of devoted PANTERA fans created a cause and began piling up on each other in honor of the late great rocking Texas metal band and to support the idea (obviously a sore subject to many, including Vinnie Paul himself), until they started reaching past the 3,000 membership and now the rest of the world is taking notice. So much so, that now even former OZZY guitarist Zakk Wylde – a good friend of Dime’s – feels the idea isn’t such a bad one after all. This source says Vinnie Paul basically laughed the offer right off the table.

MÖTLEY CRÜE’s Nikki Sixx on “Piers Morgan Tonight” – Video Available

February 15, 2012 - MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx was interviewed on last night’s edition of “Piers Morgan Tonight”, the nightly hour-long show that replaced “Larry King Live” on CNN in January 2011.

After the show aired, Sixx wrote on Facebook, “Amazing and honest interview on ‘Piers’ yonight! Thanks for calling out all the enablers. Hopefully soon the enablers will be held accountable and this madness stops. I personally am tired and sickened of losing these very talented people.”

While having all the rock star riches and luxuries, Sixx told Sun Media that he once had a $5,000-a-day drug habit, one that is vividly chronicled in his 2007 memoir, “The Heroin Diaries: A Year In The Life Of A Shattered Rock Star”.

“That’s how I communicated,” Sixx said. “I had to or I would go crazy and even as I was going crazy I had to write it down to see if what I was seeing and hearing and feeling was real.

“Cocaine was really the biggest downfall. Heroin you can maintain, sadly, but cocaine you start getting into the amounts of freebasing and mainlining you go into a whole other world of insanity.”

MEGADETH Frontman Dave Mustaine Responds To Report He Has Endorsed Rick Santorum

MEGADETH frontman DAVE MUSTAINE has issued the following statement to clarify reports that he has endorsed Rick Santorum for president:

“Contrary to how some people have interpreted my words, I have not endorsed any presidential candidate. What I did say was that I hope to see a Republican in the White House. I’ve seen good qualities in all the candidates but by no means have made my choice yet. I respect the fact that Santorum took time off from his campaign to be with his sick daughter, but I never used the word ‘endorse.’”

MEGADETH’s Dave Mustaine Supports Rick Santorum

MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine recently had a very extensive interview with MusicRadar. Among the many subjects discussed, Mustaine talked politics — supporting Senator Rick Santorum, the Republican Party and breaking down what he thinks of each major Republican presidential candidate.

“I’m just hoping that [whoever] is in the White House next year is a Republican,” says Mustaine. “I can’t bear to watch what’s happened to our great country. Everybody’s got their head in the sand. Everybody in the industry is like, ‘Oh, Obama’s doing such a great job…’ I don’t think so. Not from what I see.”

Mustaine began to discuss the individual candidates. “Looking at the Republican candidates, I’ve got to tell you, I was floored the other day to see that Mitt Romney’s five boys have a $100 million trust fund,” reveals Mustaine. “Where does a guy make that much money? So there’s some questions there. And watching Newt Gingrich, I was pretty excited for a while, but now he’s just gone back to being that person that everybody said he was — that angry little man. I still like him, but I don’t think I’d vote for him.”

“Ron Paul… you know, I heard somebody say he was like insecticide – 98 percent of it’s inert gases, but it’s the two percent that’s left that will kill you. What that means is that he’ll make total sense for a while, and then he’ll say something so way out that it negates everything else. I like the guy because he knows how to excite the youth of America and fill them in on some things. But when he says that we’re like the Taliban… I’m sorry, Congressman Paul, but I’m nothing like the Taliban.”

Mustaine finally shared his support for Pennsylvanian U.S. Senator Rick Santorum. “Earlier in the election, I was completely oblivious as to who Rick Santorum was, but when the dude went home to be with his daughter when she was sick, that was very commendable,” shares Mustaine. “Also, just watching how he hasn’t gotten into doing these horrible, horrible attack ads like Mitt Romney [has] done against Newt Gingrich, and then the volume at which Newt has gone back at Romney… You know, I think Santorum has some presidential qualities, and I’m hoping that if it does come down to it, we’ll see a Republican in the White House… and that it’s Rick Santorum.”
