NOT FOR YOU
If you want a good idea of what you're in for with MOWER, you should head over to the band's
Myspace Page,
and listen to "Road Rage". When you get up off the floor after having
the shit scared out of you from the initial smack in the face from a
sonic boom, then sit back and enjoy the most brutal mix of heavy metal,
hardcore, gutteral screams, and machine gun riffs.
There's almost a FEAR FACTORY vibe going on with Dominic Moscatello and
Brian Sheerin, the two singers who contrast really well on
Not For You
with melodic backing vocals combined with cheese-grater-growling. I
think the best representations of this band are the the
previously-mentioned "Road Rage", "L.A. Riot" and "Undone". This San
Diego five piece isn't for the casual metal/rock fan. With that said,
I'm not sure how much mainstream success this band is going to have in
the U.S., simply because this kind of material isn't flying off the
shelves these days. Overseas, they could probably do much better, and
judging from their tour itinerary (which includes some dates in Japan),
they already know that.
