EVANESCENCE FOUNDER SPLITS MID-TOUR
According to a story on
Rock-Sound.net, Ben Moody, guitarist, songwriter, and co-founder of EVANESCENCE, has walked out in the middle of the band's current European tour. Moody, who formed Evanescence with singer Amy Lee when he was still in high school, flew home without speaking to his bandmates during a day off on their German tour.
The remaining members of the band were forced to play the rest of their European dates without him. While it is unclear whether Moody has left the band for good, Amy Lee has said “You don’t do that to your band. You wouldn’t do that to your friends or your family. You don’t do that to anyone.”
This is evidently not the first time Moody has walked out on the band. Evanescence have had to cancel a tour in the past and Lee told the crowd at a recent Manchester Apollo show that “Ben flew home, but we didn’t want to let it cancel the tour again.”
Evanescence has tour dates booked through late January, but it is unclear as to how the band will proceed without Moody in place.
