Aerosmith to do another movie soundtrack
AEROSMITH has once again teamed up with songwriter DIANE WARREN, who helped them reach #1 for the first time with "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" from Armageddon . This time, they've collaborated on a song for the movie Gone in Sixty Seconds , a car heist flick starring NICOLAS CAGE and ANGELINA JOLIE, due out June 9.
METALLICA has recorded a new song for the Mission:Impossible 2 soundtrack. The song is titled "I Disappear". ALthough it's not supposed to be released to radio stations until next month, and later to the public, copies have been making their way across the internet via MP3 format. The band and record company have expressed that they do not want stations that might have a copy to play it until it is officially released.
According to the Bay Area News on March 24th, a spokesman for the Oakland Police Department says a man fell to his death from a third floor balcony at the Oakland arena during KISS' performance. A spokesman for the city's fire department says the fall was reported at 10:45 p.m. on March 23rd. A nursing supervisor at Highland Hospital in Oakland says the man was taken there, but was dead on arrival. Shawn Timothy Stubblefield, 36, died of multiple blunt injuries, according to a county coroner. In other news, KISS Alive IV has been postponed indefinetly. With songs from its Living in Dog Years album currently being heard on such MTV shows as Undressed, Making the Video, and The Road Home, NEUROTICA is recording a new track for the upcoming NEVE CAMPBELL movie A Private War, which is about Tourette's Syndrome. AC/DC's BRIAN JOHNSON is the supervisor on the soundtrack, which will also include a remake of "Deadly Sin" from Neurotica's debut album Seed . The track will now feature a vocal tradeoff between Johnson and Neurotica throat KELLY SHAEFER.
Although MARILYN MANSON recorded a cover of "Five to One" for the forthcoming DOORS tribute album, the track will not be included in the release this summer, but it still may surface on Manson's own disc, Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death), in the fall. Other artits set for the compilation include STONE TEMPLE PILOTS ("Break on Through"), CREED ("Riders on the Storm"), THE CULT ("Wild Child"), AEROSMITH ("Love Me Two Times," which originally appeared on the Air America soundtrack in 1990), and DAYS OF THE NEW's TRAVIS MEEKS with the Doors' JOHN DENSMORE ("The End").
RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE will not team up with KORN and LIMP BIZKIT for a summer stadium tour after all. Rage will instead headline its own tour.
GREAT WHITE's concert taped at the House of Blues in Chicago on March 2 will be broadcast on April 12 at 6 PM PT at www.hob.com.
