TWISTED SISTER will get the tribute treatment from hard rock notables including, tentatively, SEVENDUST, TYPE O NEGATIVE, ANTHRAX, SLIPKNOT, LIT, KITTIE, and MOTORHEAD, who've already recorded "Shoot 'Em Down." Twisted Sister will also participate, but covering a different band, AC/DC: "Sin City" is the designated track. Koch Records will issue the CD in the fall or early winter.
With a few days off from the to-be-retitled movie Metal God, JEFF PILSON has been tracking as many songs as he can for his solo album, since he won't have much time to do that in the next month--he'll be working on the MARK WAHLBERG-JENNIFER ANISTON movie, in which he plays the bassist in the fictional Steel Dragon, until May 26, and DOKKEN heads to Europe for 10-date tour beginning June 1. Beginning June 13, of course, Dokken joins POISON, CINDERELLA and SLAUGHTER on the Power to the People tour. Jeff doesn't expect to get his CD, which has Dokken similarities but has plenty of Pilson's own strong voice and personality, out until late in the year at the earliest (he has a deal with a Japanese label but expects to line up labels to put it out elsewhere as well). Dokken's Live From the Sun comes out April 18, and the band will get to work on writing a new studio disc post-tour.
POISON's RIKKI ROCKETT will chat with fans at STICKHEAD.COM tonight, April 10, at 10 PM ET/7 PT.
On April 14, 2000 EUROPE will be present at the Hard Rock Cafe in Stockholm (Sveavagen 75, 113 50 Stockholm / Sweden). The band will be donating some merchandise and will receive a gold record for sales of the 1982-2000 album (Swedish release). More details can be found on Joey Tempest's homepage. Joey says he is about fifty percent finished recording his next solo album and plans to produce and write with other artists. There's no word on a possible Europe re-union...yet. The have had numerous six-figure offers in the past though.
