Type O - Great Show!
The TYPE O NEGATIVE/COAL CHAMBER/FULL DEVIL JACKET/DEADLIGHTS tour ended on Wednesday night with a terrific show at the Palladium in Hollywood. A home town concert (or close to it) for Orange County bands Coal Chamber and Deadlights, it gave the enthusiastic, moshing crowd a lot of bang for the buck. The band members all became close friends over the past two months, and, with the exception of Deadlights, who will be going out with OzzFest, if all goes according to plan they'll reteam this summer on the Tattoo the Earth tour. Watching the show from the VIP balcony were guitarist JOHN CHRIST (now putting a new band together with an eye towards a tour), ex-BANG TANGO members JOE LeSTÉ and KYLE KYLE, and members of SLAVES ON DOPE, the only band without a record out to land an OzzFest second stage slot. They're currently recording their debut disc for SHARON & OZZY OSBOURNE's label.
ZAKK WYLDE shot a video for "Counterfeit God" from his new BLACK LABEL SOCIETY disc Stronger Than Death and got MARK WAHLBERG to appear in it, playing bass. Zakk, of course, plays the lead guitarist of Steel Dragon, the band Wahlberg joins in the movie Metal God. Once the movie is done, Wylde plans to tour this summer, and reveals he's "trying to get on the road with MÖTLEY, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX" and will later go "out with PANTERA in the fall when they are done with OzzFest. Also, Ozzy asked me to write his next disc, which I can promise you will make Ozzmosis look like a BACKSTREET BOYS CD," he says.
