New Queensryche greatest hits album

QUEENSRYCHE's Greatest Hits album will be released June 27, and a GREAT WHITE Greatest Hits , including several live and rare tracks, will be out July 18. DEF LEPPARD's summer tour will kick off on July 21 in Mansfield, Massachusetts, playing mostly outdoor amphitheaters and state fairs through September 30. Original DAMN YANKEES member Michael Cartellone will remain the band's drummer. Most recently the band had NIGHT RANGER drummer Kelly Keagy fly in to fill in for Michael, but it is said that Portrait Records boss John Kalodner was so impressed he wanted Keagy in full time. As it turns out, Cartellone was already contracted and will make himself available in between LYNYRD SKYNYRD commitments. Kelly Keagy is still set to play on a few tracks on the album and also contribute some vocals. LIMP BIZKIT and CYPRESS HILL will team up for a free tour starting July 4 in Chicago, Illinois. Dates for the tour, which will run through August 6, will be announced later today. Limp Bizkit's next CD, tentatively due in August, has the interesting title Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water. In a related story, while increasing numbers of popular music's elite, including METAILLICA and DR. DRE, have voiced their thoughts against Napster, it seems that LIMP BIZKITmay not have a problem with the online music distribution system. A Los Angeles Times report cites sources that say Limp Bizkit was close to completing an estimated $2-million deal with Napster Inc. to sponsor the band's next tour. If the Times report is true, it would seem to go against what seems to be the industry and artists opinion regarding Napster's online music distribution software. Napster software allows users to search for and download MP3's of their favorite artists' music from the computers of other Napster users, with neither the recording artist or record company receiving payment. SAMMY HAGAR has confirmed that he is indeed back in the studio for a full new studio album. It is tentatively titled Ten Thirteen, marking Sammy's birthday, which is expected to be the release date of the new album. Sammy has also launched a new website - http://www.cabowabo.com/ With Indiana University joining Yale in blocking access to Napster.com, only the University of Southern California remains in the lawsuit METALLICA filed against the music-swapping site Napster and schools that enabled students to access it.
