In the midst of a two week SLAUGHTER club run to warm up for the POISON tour, MARK SLAUGHTER was looking forward to its June 13 kickoff. "I think it will be one of the top five tours of the summer," he predicted. "Older fans like this music and younger kids who don't get LIMP BIZKIT want to be part of it, too." The vocalist finally married REBECCA, the mother of his children BRANDON, 5, and ELIJAH, 2 1/2, on May 18. "It took her seven years to get divorced," Slaughter explains. "We went to Barbados, took the kids, and got married on the beach."
Sources say that drummer ROY MAYORGA has been replaced by BRIAN TISCHY in OZZY OSBOURNE's band for this summer's OzzFest. Tischy has played with SLASH, ZAKK WYLDE and in his own band, BALL.
Since their previous apperance on DAVID LETTERMAN's Late Show in the street outside the Ed Sullivan Theater caused a major traffic jam in midtown Manhattan, BON JOVI will perform on the roof of the building this time around, on June 13. The day after, the band will appear on HOWARD STERN's morning radio show, and on June 15, JON BON JOVI and RICHIE SAMBORA will tape an appearance as JON STEWART's guests on Comedy Central's The Daily Show . The episode will air the following week. Finally, Bon Jovi will perform live in Rockefeller Center on June 16 as part of The Today Show's summer music series.
3 DOORS DOWN is currently out on the road touring in support of its "The Better Life" debut album, and in August the Mississippi-based band will team up with Creed for a two-week run. The two groups also toured together earlier this year, shortly after the release of "The Better Life," but now the upcoming dates will represent a pairing of Top 20 Southern acts, as 3 Doors Down's record is currently number 19 on the "Billboard" album charts and Creed's "Human Clay" LP is at number seven. According to representatives for Creed, the outing is tentatively set to run between August 10 and September 3, although only five concerts have been announced so far, including a two-night stand in Clarkston, Michigan on August 18 and 19. The remainder of the dates are expected to be finalized early next week.
TOM MORELLO of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE will appear in the movie Made as the best man of groom-to-be JONATHAN SILVERMAN, and as such is the recipient of a provocative dance at a bachelor party by a stripper played by porn star JENTEAL. Also in the cast of the organized crime comedy are VINCE VAUGHN, JOHN FAVREAU (who directs), SEAN 'PUFFY' COMBS, and FAMKE JANSSEN. It's slated for release next year.
