STRADAVATT open for Duran Duran

New Jersey-based band STRADAVATT will be opening for ‘80s glamour boys Duran Duran at the PNC Arts Center on Tuesday, August 8th. The band will be performing on the Levi’s Second Stage. Showtime will be approximately 6:30 p.m. Stradavatt, whose sound has been described as KISS-meets-Lenny Kravitz, have one independently released album out and are currently soliciting record labels. For more information on the band, visit their official web site at http://www.stradavatt.com/ or call 609-716-1875. After weeks of rumors, METALLICA and the Tattoo The Earth tour made their marriage official on Tuesday, announcing a joint show at New Jersey's Giants Stadium on July 20. Metallica first confirmed that it will meet up with Slipknot, Slayer, Coal Chamber, Sevendust, and the rest of the Tattoo tour on Howard Stern's morning radio show (originating from New York's K-Rock radio). Spokespeople for the Tattoo The Earth tour then confirmed the date, noting that the full Tattoo roster will perform with Metallica capping the bill. The Tattoo camp had other news on Tuesday, announcing the first ten dates of the tour as well as some additional acts on the bill. As previously reported, the tour will kick off on July 15 in Portland, Oregon, and the tour announced additional dates through late July. An official spokesperson for the tour said that an announcement regarding the complete Tattoo The Earth tour is expected soon, but noted that the trek is likely to run through mid-August. The Tattoo camp has also announced that Puya, Downset, and Hatebreed are the latest acts to join the tour, filling out a roster that also includes Slipknot, Slayer, Sevendust, Coal Chamber, Sepultura, Nashville Pussy, (hed) pe, Mudvayne, The Workhorse Movement, Full Devil Jacket, and Famous. After an Internet-only release via Musicmaker, TVT Records will issue the JIMMY PAGE/BLACK CROWES Live at the Greek album to stores on July 4, with new cover art, added video footage and a cover of "Mellow Down Easy" by WILLIE DIXON that was not on the original. The Page/Crowes tour starts June 24 in Tinley Park, Illinois and continues through October 1 in Cleveland, Ohio. The Crowes' greatest hits package, A Tribute to a Work in Progress, will be released on June 20, and the band will record a studio album later this year under a new pact with V2 Records. BON JOVI's second Crush single will be "Say it Isn't So," and the band plans to film a video for it this month in Los Angeles. RIKKI ROCKETT says that POISON may do a pay-per-view concert special, but not until after the Power to the People tour ends. UNION's trip to Sweden coincided with ALICE COOPER's tour stop there, so BRUCE KULICK and Co. were able to see ALICE in action and visit good friend ERIC SINGER, who's once again touring with Cooper, and who provided all drum tracks on the new disc, Brutal Planet.
