Last week, VH1 anounced that they were going to focus more towards a younger audience with more specialized programming. What does this mean? It means that you'll probably be seeing a lot fewer episodes of Behind The Music covering rock acts. It also means you'll probably be seeing a lot fewer BON JOVI videos on VH1. If the coverage of hard rock bands on shows like Where Are They Now and Behind The Music decreases (which it probably will), there aren't too many outlets for bands of this genre to go to. It looks like hard rock may be going underground...again. One promising note is that this change most likely won't affect European countries, but rather just the United States.
JOURNEY will be releasing Arrival in mid-September. The prelimanary track listing is: Higher Place . All The Way . All The Things I Love About You . Loved By You . Livin' To Do . I Got a Reason . INJURY REPORT UPDATE: IRON MAIDEN has canceled its performances in Essen, Germany, Sophia, Bulgaria and Athens, Greece in order to give guitarist JANICK GERS time to recover from injuries suffered in a fall from the stage on July 8 in Mannheim, Germany. Gers lost his balance and fell into the photo pit during the first encore in the band's set, and was rushed to the hospital unconscious, with a sprained back, bruises and a forehead gash that required six stitches. The tour will resume with the Portugal date on July 16. Also recovering from injuries is METALLICA's JAMES HETFIELD. He's now under treatment for back injuries in Denver, Colorado, and is expected to return to the Summer Sanitarium tour as of the July 12 show at the city's Mile High Stadium. Meanwhile, the band plans to perform make-up shows, free to those with ticket stubs from the three cities Hetfield had to miss: Atlanta, Georgia on August 4 at the Georgia Dome, Dallas, Texas on August 6 at Texas Stadium, and August 2 in Columbus, Ohio at Buckeye Lake (tickets from Sparta, Kentucky will be honored here).
DEF LEPPARD's PHIL COLLEN and RICK ALLEN will chat with fans on America Online on Wednesday, July 12 at 8 PM ET at Keyword Rock Chat.
