Larts with Kid Rock on Letterman

LARS ULRICH and KIRK HAMMET played alongside KID ROCK's band last night on The Tonight Show. STONE TEMPLE PILOTS is going to be entering the studio soon to record new tracks for a proposed Greatest Hits package. The disc is tentatively titled Big Bang Babies, and is due out in October. RORSCHACH TEST, SNAKE RIVER CONSPIRACY, BILE, N17, and VIDEODRONE are teaming up for what will be the "Bush And Gore 2000" tour. The tour motto will be "Sex and violence have never been better together," the trek will get rolling on August 5 in Tempe, Arizona and keep rolling through late September. This will mark the first time Rorschach Test has been able to support a disc with an extended tour. The new disc, Peace Minus One, was produced by Neil Kernon (JUDAS PRIEST, QUEENSRYCHE, DOKKEN), has been a favorite at metal radio this summer and marks the group's first release since 1998's "Unclean." "This whole last couple of years, with everything that's been going on in the high-school shootings and bombings and interstate terrorism that's rising, has had a huge influence on the writing of this record," says frontman James Baker said of the material on Peace Minus One. "Like we say, it's a soundtrack for the new chemically imbalanced generation." INCUBUS is set to release an EP of prevously unreleased live and acoustic songs titled When Incubus Attacks, Vol. 1 on August 22. This will be the first disc in a series of low-priced CDs of live and previously unreleased material. You can currently catch incubus on the road with OzzFest. German singer DORO PESCH will release her first disc in the United States in 10 years on Koch Records on September 12. The new disc, entitled Calling the Wild, includes a collaboration with LEMMY KILMISTER on MOTORHEAD's "Love Me Forever" and a second duet, "Alone Again," plus guest performances by guitarists SLASH and AL PITRELLI (MEGADETH). Peasch also covers BILLY IDOL's "White Wedding" on the disc. COREY PARKS, bassist for NASHVILLE PUSSY, decided to take a leave of absence just as the Tattoo the Earth tour was about to kick off last week. TRACY ALMAZON (HELLDORADO) will be replacing her for now, but Parks has not definitely decided to return. BAR 7 bandmates JEFF KEITH and FRANK HANNON (both formerly of TESLA) will chat with fans on AOL on July 19 at 9 PM ET and will discuss the dismissal of guitarist TOMMY SKEOCH and the band's future direction. Go to keyword Rock Chat to log on to the chat. JANI LANE will be singing with WARRANT when they go out on the road with RATT and LA GUNS beginning this Friday in Los Angeles. As stated in previous reports, BILLY MORRIS, from the Cleveland, Ohio outfit THE GLORIOUS THINGS, will assume the slot vacated by KERI KELLI, who joined up with SLASH'S SNAKEPIT.
