CARNIVAL OF SINS - DVD
I was as skeptical as skeptical gets when MOTLEY CRUE announced that
they were reuniting for a world tour with the original line up earlier
this year. That band has more demons, dirt, and drama going on
internally, that it was almost a given that the whole reunion would
self-destruct before they got one week into a tour.
Nothing could have been further from the truth, as it turns out. The
Crue went on to sell out almost every date on the tour, and played in
front of packed arena crowds for the better part of 2005. What better
way to document it than to release a souvenir DVD of the whole
experience.
The Two-DVD
Carnival Of Sins
set gives you a great idea of the scale of the Motley tour is. With a
crew of 150, and a dusk-to-dawn setup for the massive circus tent stage
they play on every night, you see in detail, what it takes to put one
of the world's most destructive (and self-destructive) bands on the
road from night to night.
In addition to a 2 1/2 hour show consisting of all the band's hits, and lots of pyrotechnics,
Carnival Of Sins contains a bonus disc with a 'DoCRUEmentary' on how the crew puts on the show, as well as all the band's current videos.
I would love to watch this DVD on a big screen TV, but I'll have to wait until Christmas for that one.
