CHARLIE'S ANGELS - FULL THROTTLE

I'll openly admit that the only reason I was excited to check out this disc was that I had heard for months that NICKELBACK, KID ROCK, and DIMEBAG DARRELL were going to collaborate on a cover of ELTON JOHN's 'Saturday Night's Alright'. The rest of the disc I could honestly give a shit about. With that said, if you want to hear a KILLER version of the ELTON JOHN classic, you should pick this up disc. Otherwise, avoid it.

The CHARLIE'S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE SOUNDTRACK is a compilation disc you might hear playing at a sorority house party, simply because it's a good 'chick mix'.
Tracks include:
1. Feel Good Time - Pink featuring William Orbit
2. Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting) - Nickelback featuring Kid Rock
3. Rebel, Rebel (new recording) - David Bowie
4. Danger! High Voltage - Electric Six
5. Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi
6. Any Way You Want It - Journey
7. Surfer Girl - The Beach Boys
8. Working For The Weekend - Loverboy
9. A Girl Like You - Edwyn Collins
10. Nas' Angels...The Flyest - Nas featuring Pharrell
11. I Just Want To Be Your Everything - Andy Gibb
12. This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) - Natalie Cole
13. U Can't Touch This - MC Hammer
14. Last Dance - Donna Summer

The PINK track blows ass. I know, I know, it's all over radio and MTV, but since when has that ever stopped a song from being shitty? Ninety percent of mainstream radio playlists are populated with shit that you'd never see the likes of on a goat farm.

As you can see by the track listing, the rest of the disc is "greatest hits of the 80's 90's and today" collection, and might make for a good party disc...if you have a vagina.

With all that bashing out of the way, let me gloat about the NICKELBACK/KID ROCK/DIMEBAG version of "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)". It sticks pretty true to the original, but the song has been beefed up substantially with tuned-down guitars, Chad Kroeger's grizzled vocals, Kid Rock's howling, and Dimebag...well, it's Dimebag Darrell doing his PANTERA-finger-noodling thing all over the updated track. I've spun this one track about seven times already, and if weren't for the fact that I haven't picked up my fucking guitar in a year, I'd be jamming along with it.
