August 9, 2007 - While reading a story about a head-on car crash in Nebraska in which three people died, Jay Warren from Virginia's WSLS bursts out into uncontrollable laughter. The Nebraska State Patrol says three people are dead following a crash
on Interstate 80 just west of Paxton in western Nebraska.
The patrol says a rental truck traveling east lost control, crossed the
median and collided with a westbound semitrailer shortly after 6 p.m.
The two trucks then burst into flames.
The driver of the rental truck and the driver and a passenger in the
semitrailer all died in the crash. The names of the victims have not yet
been released.
The state closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 at the Sutherland
exit, and traffic was being rerouted onto U.S. Highway 30 and being
allowed back on the Interstate at the Ogallala interchange.
