Franciszek Chudzik, 72, was driving a 1996 Plymouth minivan north on Lincoln Street in Hinsdale and made an improper turn onto the railroad tracks, according to a Hinsdale police release. The minivan became disabled at the Lincoln Street grade crossing, and an unknown number of good samaritans assisted in getting Chudzik out the vehicle. An empty No. 1282 inbound train first struck the minivan and then an occupied outbound No. 1267 train, scheduled to arrive at the Route 59 station at 6:03 p.m., struck the empty vehicle, causing it to catch fire
