caught on cctv: helicopter crashes and explodes in brazil
January 5, 2008 - A businessman died and five people were injured in a helicopter explosion occurred on the afternoon of Monday in Itupeva, which is about 73 km from Sao Paulo, Brazil. The pilot and copilot were taken to a hospital in the city with serious injuries. The helicopter left Paraty, in Rio, around 3:30pm. The accident happened around 5pm, when the pilot was preparing to land on a farm of Itupeva. At about 20 meters from the ground, the helicopter exploded and caught fire. Besides the pilot and the copilot, the aircraft was carrying a couple, their teenage daughter and a friend. The businessman who died in the accident was the owner of a factory boats and barges.
