censored bill hicks footage aired on the late show with david letterman
January 30, 2009 - David Letterman and the Late Show crew debut the censored segment from the late Bill Hicks' appearance on October 1, 1993. His mother, Mary Hicks, was the special guest on the show for the broadcast. The segment was pulled from the show initially because Hicks did a joke about the pro-life people. CBS had deemed the material "unsuitable for the viewing audience". The irony is, that when the show Hicks WOULD have been on finally did air, there was a commercial for... pro-life. Yeah. Bill Hicks succumbed to pancreatic cancer on February 26, 1994.
