NORTON SHOOTS HIS MEATY LITTLE MOUTH OFF ABOUT SATELLITE RADIO?
It seems that our pal Li'l
Jimmy Norton dished a little O&A gossip at his show at The Downtown in Farmingdale, Long Island last night.
A
post on the New York Radio Message Board reads as follows:
"I've got a bit of inside info on O&A's dealings with Sirius. I just came from Jim Norton's show in Farmingdale, and he said that O&A had a chance to return on satellite while still under contract to Infinity, but turned it down because Infinity placed too many restrictions on the deal. They wouldn't have been able to discuss the St. Pat's incident, and Infinity would have penalized them a good deal of money anytime they mentioned it."
Now, we have NO idea if this is legit, but this little tidbit also popped up on Wackbag.com (which is second only in integrity to the Associated Press...umm, no.):
"Norton made mention of the show's return during his act. He said that they already had the chance to return on satellite (hence the Sirius meeting), but turned it down because Infinity wouldn't allow them to discuss the S4S3 incident; there'd be a fine anytime they brought it up. "And you know what self-destructive assholes they are," Norton said, adding that Vos would probably be the one to blurt something out on the air. So there's a bit of news we haven't heard yet. Norton guaranteed that they would be back, "maybe sooner than you think." He also said that O&A did an interview with FHM magazine that will be out in January."
So there you go. Two message boards bustling about a possible move to Satellite radio. Who knows?
Update - 12/29/03: Here's an Email we just received from a nice fella who was at Norton's show in Farmingdale, and whose name also happens to be Jimmy...
"I was at our little meaty bosomed zeros' show at the Downtown in Farmingdale Saturday night and I can confirm his comments about Sattelite Radio and the boys being back on the air soon. He mentioned how they talked to Sirius and were told they would be fined something like $10,000 for everytime they mentioned the incident on air."
Jimmy also gave a li'l recap of that night's performance:
"...BTW Norton KILLED!!! He had three openers, the first guy was ok(forgot his name) The second guy was Tony Landolfi?? He won the Long Island Comic Idol contest and he was very good. The last opener was this girl(forgot her name too, but I saw her open for Norton over the summer at Bananas in Poughkeepsie) She sucked. Half the guys walked out for smoke breaks when she came on, including myself."
(Wow. Another guy who doesn't like female comics. Big shocker.)
