calif. man eats more than 59 hot dogs in 12 minutes
June 2, 2007 - You're looking at Joey Chestnut of San Jose, Calif., at the Southwest Regional Hot Dog Eating Championship, Saturday, at Arizona Mills Mall in Tempe, Ariz. Chestnut ate 59 1/2 hot dogs and buns, shattering the previous world record of 53 3/4 hot dogs and buns held by Takeru Kobayashi, of Japan. Chestnut now will head to New York for Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog-Eating Contest.
