December 8, 2007 - At The Women's World Cup Downhill in Aspen, Colorado, 19 year-old French Skiier Anne-Sophie Barthet tears several knee ligaments during a crash. This incident was the second medical evacuation of the day. The first involved Alexandra Meissnitzer of Austria, a veteran downhiller who sustained a bone bruise of the tibia in her left leg. After these two incidents, the event organizers reconsidered continuing the competition.
