October 15, 1999 - on a Friday night, Nicholas White, a thirty-four-year-old production manager at Business Week, working late on a special supplement, went for a cigarette break, and on his way back up to the forty-third floor of the McGraw-Hill Building, the elevator he was riding in stopped. White remained in the elevator for forty-one hours before he was finally rescued. This time lapse footage shows the entire ordeal in time lapse footage.
