February 21, 2009 - After being announced by Philip Seymour Hoffman and Laura Dern, Mickey Rourke took home the prize for 'best male lead' in 'The Wrestler' at the 2009 Film Independent's Spirit Awards, which were held under a big tent in Santa Monica Beach, Mickey Rourke launched into a six minute-long acceptance speech, peppered with brutal honesty and profanity-laced accolades for his friend, actor Eric Roberts, who according to Rourke, deserves a second chance like he got with 'The Wrestler' and roles leading up to it.
