April 20, 2009 - Channel 7-KVIA (cable Channel 6) reporter Darren Hunt and photographer Ric Dupont were arrested by Sgt. Raul Ramirez while they were on a road shoulder covering a semi-truck accident on Interstate 10.
DuPont filmed the encounter. The video shows Ramirez telling the news crew to leave moments before arresting them. "I didn't do anything," Hunt says on the video aired on television.
Sambrano said the incident was listed as "interference with public duties."
Hunt and Dupont were taken to the Westside Regional Command Center where a commander and other supervisors decided to release them, Sambrano said.
Ramirez has been placed on desk duty while Internal Affairs looks into the incident.
