July 2, 2009 - Police have issued a safety alert after a 49-year-old Miami resident was robbed of her purse with all of her bank and identity cards and cash and her book bag while putting gasoline in her car. The entire short incident was captured on surveillance tape from the Chevron station at 130th St. and Biscayne Boulevard in Miami, Florida.
The victim, Dana Ariton, said she was on the way home from her classes at Miami-Dade College when she pulled in to the station to get some gasoline at noon. On the surveillance tape, a man in a white car pulls up, walks over to her, studies her and then ducks down as she looks his way while she is getting gas. He then quickly opens her car door and takes her purse and book bag before taking off.
