September 13, 2009 - Proving once again that he must be the center of attention at all times, a seemingly drunk (just check out the photos of him guzzling cognac prior to the awards show) Kanye West stole the spotlight from country singer Taylor Swift moments after she won the award for 'Best Female Video' at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. West stole the microphone and dissed the singer, announcing that Beyoncé’s "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)" should have won the award. In the seconds before West rudely interrupted, Swift managed to thank her fans.
