September 12, 2009 - A 34 year-old train passenger, known only as Francis, is smashed in the face with a glass bottle at a subway station in Melbourne, Australia.
The technology engineer was waiting for a city-bound train at Berwick railway station to take him to work around 4:30am when he was approached by a bare-chested man carrying an empty, stubby-sized bottle, according to police.
The offender sat next to Francis and waited until the train was just about to pull in before smashing him in the face with the glass bottle, a Victoria Police spokesman said.
The offender, aged about 19 or 20, then grabbed Francis’ satchel bag containing an Acer laptop computer, personal items and cash and ran to the station car park where a black four-wheel drive was waiting for him.
