FURIOUS GEORGE
I have two questions for Mr. Lynch:
1. Why do you keep putting out CD's of cover songs? Didn't you learn the last time with "Will Play For Food" that no one really cares about
your 'take' on someone else's material (especially on this new disc that has completely obscure tracks)
2. Why haven't you focused on original material and hired a new band that DOESN"T SOUND LIKE DOKKEN? (The last attempt at the original
LYNCH/PILSON project was a joke)
Lynch, if any of you don't know, is without a doubt one of the greatest, most energetic players to ever take up guitar. Laying a promenant career
with second-tier hair metal (or in Don Dokken's case - Hair WEAVE), Lynch demonstrated a skill and style all his own. Having parted with Dokken, he formed the highly energetic, albeit short-lived LYNCH MOB (who's debut
Wicked Sensation is without a doubt one of the greatest hard-rock classics EVER), and finally settling on a career focusing on well...nothing. A short lived project here, a lousy compilation there, and most of it fairly useless. I was hoping that Lynch would abandon the 'covers' route, and focus on what he does best - write great hard rock and burning guitar, but he instead opted for the easy way out. If his well has run dry, then this disc is clear indication that he really doesn't have much left to offer. Granted
his playing is always top notch and his tone is the envy of most guitarists the world over, but the songs are so poorly choosen, and the hystrionic vocals of Kelly Kealing are downright comical. Please, George, stop playing this dreck, find a new band, find your nuts and make the album we all know your capable of. Till then, I'll keep spinning the old Lynch Mob discs and using this new disc as yet another, well used, beer coaster....
