JUST PUSH PLAY
AEROSMITH's latest release was self-produced, which in some cases can be a good thing, and in some cases... devastating. You see, when an outside producer is involved, you can at least get an objective opinion coming into the mix. Sometimes a band that's producing its own releases may not be critical enough of itself to weed out any material that might otherwise be sub-par. On the other hand, they might be used to people like A&R guru John Kalodner telling them to "go home and write" in the past, that they can actually put together a decent bit of material for a disc. I must say, if the song they did for the CHARLIE'S ANGELS soundtrack is indicative of what they can come up with on their own (and I REALLY hated that song), this could really be a stinker.
