CHANGES
If you know anything about GODSMACK, you know that frontman Sully Erna has an insane work ethic. From the band's humble beginnings in the Boston suburbs to their current international stardom, Sully and co. have always busted their asses to promote their music and put on the BEST performance they possibly can. Nowhere is that more evident than in
CHANGES, the new live performace/documentary DVD from the band, shot throughout their 2003-2004
Faceless Tour.
The film got a
one-day-only theatrical release the day before it hit stores, and while I don't think this DVD is as theater-worthy as METALLICA's
Some Kind Of Monster, it's just as powerful in conveying the band's determination to be the best at what they do.
CHANGES features live performances of the band's biggest hits, including:
1 Straight Out of Line
2 Awake
3 Faceless
4 Bad Religion
5 Moon Baby
6 Serenity
7 Re-Align
8 Changes
9 Keep
10 Voodoo
11 Batalla de los Tambores
12 Stand Alone
The only song that came in a little under the wire (in my opinion - feel free to disagree) is "Serenity" ... the band seemed to speed up the tempo a bit too much, and the arrangement didn't seem as thick as it did on the
Faceless CD...but that's the difference between most live recordings and studio discs, so no real foul there.
Honestly, I can't find any real fault with this DVD. From beginning to end, it's obvious that a great deal of work and sweat went into making this, and any band who is thinking about producing a home video ought to check out
CHANGES before you shoot your first minute of video.
