TIME BOMB

Wait a second... I hear guitars... Hold on a moment... those are real drums!!! Where the hell are the overly-processed vocals? The oh-so-simple lyrics? WHERE ARE THE BOY BANDS? They're not here. Thank God. It's comforting that in this time of Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera, that a record company is willing to spend money to promote a rock band. Bravo Dreamworks, Bra-vo indeed. Let's be honest, there aren't too many career bands out there, so when one like BUCKCHERRY comes along, and gives us all a glimmer of hope that we might have another GUNS N ROSES, AEROSMITH, or MOTLEY CRUE on our hands, there's a certain sigh of relief among those thirsty for real rock 'n' roll. I have to hand it to the Buckcherry guys...or their A&R guy...Whoever told them to do more songs like 'Lit Up', their big hit from their debut disc, was a friggin' genius. The first single, 'Ridin' is a straight-up, hooky rock song, and there's at least half a dozen more just like it on Time Bomb. Josh Todd sings his ass off on this latest offering, which was produced by John Travis, who also has produced KID ROCK and MONSTER MAGNET. The disc is much more agressive than their debut disc, and that can also be attributed to them spending sixteen months on tour in support of their fist disc. The band does sound much tighter on this disc, especially bassist J.B. and drummer Glenn’s rhythm section. Heavily influenced by classic rock, blues and punk, BUCKCHERRY will hopefully have enough riffs in the can to last more than a week or so.
