OK, so you gotz this band SUSPECT comin' outta Cleveland. Cleveland is the plase were the rock and roll hall o fame is (i putt a sticker on this van thems have in the lobby...but sum uther dood put his there insted...), and thems send over this CD of five songs fer us all to lissen to. So bossman is 2 bizzy to write shit these days...so its my fuggin turn to revew this thing on a weekund.
Suspect aint bad fer a local act, boy... i tells you that much. Most o' wut I here frum local bands is crapptastic...totully craptastic...this aint. The riffs is good. The hooks is decent. The production is punchee. I likes it.
I dont liek the singer. Why? He aint me. Acshully, he's not that bad...just sumthin' about his voice that soundz liek it wasnt mixed rite...like its all up in frunt of the rest of the band more then it shuld be. I dunno...maybe Im just hungedover.
Suspect sounds kinda like TRAPT...and kinda like LINKIN PARK...and a little like TAPROOT. Its liek this: chugga chugga riff... boom boom drums...singer cums in with the whiny voice...then fer the chorus he skreems like someone just kikked his throat with a steel-toe shoe.
Fer instance...the song "Everday Life" song starts off with a simpul guitar riff" and kikks into a nice groove with the drumms. I cant help butt think the chorus is bein' sunged off-key. I dunno...jus sounds liek that. Get sum ProTools, boy. The lyrics is typicul pissed-off wite boy werds. "Take me away from this hell..." and "the pain will subside everyday"... typical white-dood-pissed-off song lyrics.
"Down Below" haz sum nice dynamics to it...good build up frum the beginning to chorus...very hummable... 'xept fer that fuggin singer... sounds off-key to me. Even the harmunnies... soundz off key.
Good demo disc...thems need a better prodoocer if thems want to get the gudd radeeo play.
