Uhhh….hey Beavis, check out BONED, it’s a band that like, wants to sound like AC/DC.
Yeah I know, “heh heh, you said boned.”
Let’s start by saying that if you own any AC/DC records you will be insulted by this. But I have to also tell you that insulting AC/DC fans wasn’t the intent, in fact these 5 guys are hard-core AC/DC fans themselves. Apparently they decided instead of forming a cover band to tribute Angus and Co., they would write originals that sound like songs that AC/DC decided shouldn’t make it onto an album. The guitar playing isn’t exceptional, the vocals hurt, you can barely hear the bass, and the drums are typical. These guys had an awesome vision, I think they just failed to deliver. AC/DC is an untouchable force, which means you can’t copy them -- not even in tribute to them -- it just doesn’t work. I can understand their affinity for AC/DC though, the Ballbreaker tour was the first concert I ever went to, but you have to also understand that AC/DC is awesome because they’re unique, no other rock and blues band can copy them. I give Boned credit for trying, but I hope they didn’t quit their day jobs.
