HOLLYWOOD ROCKS BOX SET
Children of the
‘80s, get your hairspray and pick brushes out and get ready to tease your hair
up like you’re 17 all over again! This companion set to the famous Hollywood
Rocks book is going to hit you hard in the face with nostalgia as you get
thrown back to a time of screaming vocals, flashy guitar solos, tight spandex,
and enough hairspray to destroy 3 Ozone Layers. This box set is 4 CDs of some
of the most quality Metal from the ‘80s and early ‘90s, back when it was common
to have long hair. Unfortunately, not many modern Metal fans are going to
appreciate this; it will most likely be billed as their daddy’s music and
looked over, or mocked, take your pick. Kids these days…
Here is how it is
broken down:
Disc 1: Early ‘80s,
1980-1985. Bands like Plain Jane, Dokken, W.A.S.P., Ratt, Xciter, Armored
Saint, and Bitch.
Disc 2: Mid ‘80s,
1985-1988. Bands like Poison, Lizzy Borden, Great White, Stryper, Tuff, Nitro,
and Faster Pussycat.
Disc 3: Late ‘80s.
Bands like Keel, China,
London, Cherry Street, XYZ,
Lions & Ghosts.
Disc 4: Early ‘90s.
Bands like Jetboy, Rebel Rebel, Hardly Dangerous, Fizzy Bangers, Pretty Boy
Floyd, and Skull.
Overall, not a
bad collection, although I must admit, the first 2 discs would be my favorite.
I am not a huge fan of hair Metal but I liked the heavier stuff like
Tuff and W.A.S.P., and who can forget the guitar work of Michael Angelo in
Nitro?
