HAZY DREAMS: A TRIBUTE TO JIMI HENDRIX
Gorilla hate tribute CDs. All sound same. All sound like a bunch of
virtuoso musicians playing songs they can play in their sleep. JIMI
HENDRIX was influential to so many humans playing guitar, it hard to
imagine that 30 years after the fact that someone could do something
new with Jimi Hendrix music.
Hazy Dreams make Gorilla think all hope is not lost in musician community.
Fabrizio V.Zee Grossi put together some of the best musicians to make
this CD. Gorilla think these musicians are hard up for work, because
why else would they come together for another Jimi Hendrix tribute CD?
Gorilla think the problem is that too many times these songs have been
covered and re-recoreded. Gorilla think Fabrizio know this when he
decide to put together this tribute...because there is a different take
on every song.
ICE T hold it down with "Little Wing" and METALLICA bass player Robert
Trujillo hold down beat in "Foxey Lady". Gorilla most surprised with
Edsel Dope appearance on 'Hey Joe"...keep waiting for Edsel to scream
"Die Motherfucker Die Motherfucker Die" during middle of song.
Gorila once scream "Die motherfucker Die"...but it was at zoo lady because she took fire hose and point it at Gorilla.
Gorilla happy that group of musicians decided to make
Hazy Dreams...but sad that they were all old humans...make Gorilla depressed that no one will try this again.
Gorilla try to be optimistic...just like Gorilla is optimistic that tapioca pudding will be for dessert tomorrow in cafetria.
