THIS ELEGY HIS AUTOPSY
BEECHER seems to have perfected their music a bit sine the last time I heard them.
This Elegy, His Autopsy
shows a slightly more mature sounding Beecher. The headache inducing
screaming is still there, but I guess some guys just never grow out of
that, but the song writing has definitely improved, there are quite a
few more hooks in the songs this time around. The songs are also
arranged better, I like some of the rhythms they used instead of
sticking to the typical formulas a lot of bands use in hardcore. I’m
not saying I like them, because I honestly don’t, but I can respect
them for trying and definitely appreciate the growth that they’ve
shown. At least this time the album doesn’t sound like one long, boring
track, there are a lot more flavors in this CD.
This Elegy, His Autopsy is also, to me, a much darker sounding album than
Breaking The Fourth Wall.
Maybe next time we hear from these guys the vocalist will learn how to
do more than yell and scream. I’m not asking them to start doing
Barbershop Quartet vocal melodies, but maybe something a little less
painful on the ears, I don’t think that’s asking too much.
