Retaliation
is Dane cook’s latest CD/DVD release and it’s packed full of laughs.
OK, I know that was a cheesy cliché line, but what else am I supposed
to say about a guy as funny as Dane? The package gives you a ton of
“bang for your buck”: 2 CDs and a DVD. The 2 CDs are funny as hell, I
had actually seen most of this act performed in Jersey many months ago,
right before Tourgasm started in full force. The act is pretty much all
new material, you aren’t going to be hearing many, if any, jokes from
Harmfull if Swallowed. Part of Dane’s greatness is his stage presence,
so listening to these jokes on CD doesn’t give you the full effect, but
you can imagine what he’s doing most of the time and when you are
listening to this and picturing Dane jumping around in your head, it
makes driving difficult.
The DVD has some great stuff on it, it includes a bunch of skits from
Crank Yankers
and Shortie’s Watchin’ Shorties (All from Comedy Central). You can also
watch Dane at the Roast of Dennis Leary, and the Comedy Central Bar
Mitzvah Show, both of which you can watch the censored or uncensored
versions. Last but not least there is a “Tourgasm Teaser” on the DVD,
which will lead you to assume that there will be a Tourgasm DVD
released sooner or later. Can’t wait to see video of Bob Kelly
complaining about breaking his knee…if you didn’t understand that, you
probably don’t listen to Opie and Anthony.
