LIVE FROM THE INSIDE DVD

Let me start this off by saying that I love this band. I hadn’t heard of SHINEDOWN until only a few months ago when a friend of mine was raving about them. Usually this friend and I disagree lately on music, but this time he was right on target. He told me to check them out and when I did I couldn’t get enough of them. Their debut album titled Leave a Whisper has been in my CD player for about a month and a half now.

Anyway, this DVD is everything I could have wanted from a band that is still pretty new. The main part of the DVD is a live performance, and I have to be honest, while the band did a great job, it could have been recorded better. It sounded as if the levels were mixed a little out of whack and it gives you the impression that the band isn’t that great live, luckily I know a rough mix when I hear one, otherwise I would have been a little disappointed. The band played every song on their debut album aside from 2, and added their cover of Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” which Brent (vocals) very emotionally dedicated to Dimebag Darrell during the performance. The bonus material includes a photo gallery, the band’s videos for “45” and “Simple Man” and a documentary/interview with the band that was perfectly timed at around 15 minutes, not too long, not too short.

This is a great DVD and a great way to introduce you to the band if you don’t know much about them. It is a must have for any Shinedown fan.
