US AND THEM
SHINEDOWN is back with their sophomore album,
Us and Them
and it does not disappoint at all. They found a way to still channel
the spark and mood of their first CD and build new sounds around that,
instead of completely changing their sound, like some bands do these
days. The first single “Save Me” is an instant classic as are the two
tracks that surround it: “Heroes” and “I Dare You.” If I really was
going to name every great song on here though, I’d just be typing out
the entire track listing. Brent had told me that this album would be
even more eclectic than their first, and he was absolutely right, there
is a wide range of styles on this album, but they all seem to mesh
well. What I like about this band, and this album is that they didn’t
need to release “Leave A Whisper” again under a different name and call
it a second album, like so many bands do these days. A band that can
put out so many different kinds of songs, but still maintain a
signature sound or vibe is so hard to come by, and deserves much love
and respect. I will be a fan of these guys for a long time to come.
