DEUCE
I can’t think of a good way to intro this disc here so I’ll just get right into it,
Deuce
is great. BEAUTIFUL CREATURES have a sound that reminds me a little of
the very late 80’s metal bands, the kinda stuff that was around as the
glam went away
(which isn't hard to believe considering the fact that most of Beautiful Creatures consists of members of BANG TANGO - SC).
There is so much pure energy in the music that it’ll wake you up better
than a cup of coffee. The songs have pretty much everything that makes
complete songs: solid intros, rhythmic verses, even catchier choruses,
solos, buildups, and break-downs. Most bands these days don’t even
bother with more than mediocre intros, let alone buildups and solos.
The first 8 tracks will get your feet stomping along with the beat
until track 9 comes on, “The Unknown,” which is a 42 second guitar
interlude which leads right into the first slow-to-mid tempo song on
the album, “Ton Of Lead.” The song “Thanks” plows in with a heavy
driving bass line which then layers on some guitars and finally jumps
into a real grungy riff, this song almost reminds me of “You Could Be
Mine” by GUNS N ROSES. My only complaint are the vocals on “I Won’t Be
The One,” which are just a little too scratchy and forced sounding for
my taste, but the album is so good that I’m more than willing to look
past that.
