STUBBS THE ZOMBIE - XBOX
Being a huge horror movie buff, especially zombie flicks, I was
really looking forward to getting my hands on Stubbs The Zombie
and I was hoping it would be as much fun as I wanted it to be.
Lucky for me (and you)
Stubbs The Zombie makes for a highly entertaining,
fun, gory and unique 3rd person action game. You, as Stubbs roam around
a futuristic 50's city called Punchbowl eating brains, building and
commanding the zombie army you create.
Aside from the standard "fight" style attack, Stubbs can also eat brains,
release a nasty fart cloud to stun enemies and throw "Gut Grenades".
And don't even worry about running out of energy since Stubbs can
rejuvenate lost energy by simply standing still for a period of time.
Sounds easy, but believe me, they are many scenarios with bullets
flying in every direction that makes it quite a challenge to stay
still long enough to build energy back up.
But in the most innovating attack method of all, Stubbs can rip his
arm off and control it, completely removed from his body. Using the
arm comes in quite handy (no pun intended). You can crawl up walls
and across ceilings to access hard to reach places. In addition Stubbs
can use his arm to "possess" other humans by grabbing their heads.
A tactic you must get used to, since there are some situations that
are otherwise impossible to overcome without it. Careful though,
Stubbs' arm doesnt have nearly the durability as does its owner.
Game play is quite smooth and it doesn't take long at all to get
used to the controls and functions. The story is unique and
interesting and of course, the game itself is loads of fun.
Stubbs is definitely a nice break from the usual shoot-em-up style
games and I can totally see this title churning out a bunch of
sequels.
Stubbs 2 for XBOX 360 would look amazing, considering
this one is visually stunning as it is. Whether you're a hardcore
or casual gamer, Stubbs is a title gamers on every level will enjoy.
