WORLD OF LIES
This album is BRUTAL! It’s been a long time sine I’ve heard something
this heavy! The vocals sounds like violent vomiting at times, but when
it comes to music like this the vocals aren’t really there to take
center stage anyway, so who cares? The songs on here, although not
easily to decipher from one another at times, are ridiculously heavy,
and when I say heavy, I mean HEAVY. Imagine, if you will, a steel
I-beam being dropped off the roof of a skyscraper. Now, imagine it
clanking you in the head hundreds of feet below on ground level.
Imagine the sound it would make. Well, not to you, because you’d be
dead, obviously, but imagine the entertainment it would provide to the
people around you, especially if you were a prick! Yeah, it’s that
heavy, imagine the feeling of a few hundred pounds of steel falling on
your head from who-knows how high above, that’s how heavy this album
is. Now, imagine the sound of a buffalo running on concrete, that
clanking sound the hooves make. Imagine a few dozen herd of buffalo
running on that same floor, in a confined space, that’s what the drums
sound like. The blast beats are intense, I would imagine seeing
Bezerker live, and being near the stage, would probably collapse your
lungs and shatter a few ribs just from the power behind the beats.
It’s not all in the heaviness though, if you get really grasp the
rhythm of the beats and follow how the guitars are integrated, some of
the songs on
World of Lies are actually kind of catchy.
Earache Records is right about one thing: This is an album of metal, not music.
