SEVEN SEALS
Wow,
Seven Seals
starts off like thunder with the chugging riff of “Demons and Angels,”
a song with a pretty fast tempo and lots of thrash thrown in here and
there. “Rollercoaster,” starts off with a familiar sounding rhythm,
although I can’t place where I think I’ve heard it before, which is
then followed by the mid-tempo title track. “Seven Seals” is the first
break you get from the chugging that you hear in the first two tracks,
but what it lacks in speed it more than makes up for with it’s
air-guitar-able solo. “The Immortal Ones” reminds me of something you’d
hear on a King Diamond album, even the vocals remind me a little of
King’s raspy voice when he isn’t shattering glass with his falsetto.
After a few songs that start off a little slower “Carniwar” blasts back
into full Metal madness with a riff that kicks your teeth in, the
chanting backup vocals with the falsetto screams that follow add to the
atmosphere of the song.
I haven’t heard much of PRIMAL FEAR’s music before this and it’s not
what I was expecting. It was, in fact, better than I had expected, the
songs aren’t without their flaws or little over the top things that
need refinement but it’s a solid album.
