LIVE TRUCKER
Even though I had seen KID ROCK live in concert on a road trip to
Philadelphia a few years ago, I still wasn't sure how I was going to
feel about a
LIVE album from the Detroit cowboy. In all honesty, I am enjoying
Live Trucker
much more than I thought I was going to. Even without the visual,
hillbilly element, Kid Rock delivers an energetic performance that
spans at least three genres.
For the metalheads, there's songs like "American Bad Ass", which
incorporates the "Sad But True" riff and thrash-tastic guitar work. For
the rednecks in the crowd, there's a minor LYNYRD SKYNYRD "Free Bird"
tribute, and a little Bob Seger thrown in for good measure...and if
you're a fan of the rap/rock that made Kid famous, there's a good
helping of that with songs like "Bawitaba", "Devil Without A Cause" and
"Cocky". Of course, if you want the easy listening Kid Rock, you can
always go for the Gretchen Wilson duet, "Picture". OK, I was wrong.
FOUR genres.
It's diverse, it's well-produced, and it'll hold you over until Kid Rock releases his next CD.
