EDGE OF THE WORLD
Why on earth JUDAS PRIEST guitarist would want to disgrace the memories
of the late John Entwistle and Cozy Powell by un-shelving this
justifiably shelved festering pile of meat is beyond me. Recorded in
the mid-1990's,
Edge Of The World
features some of the most lackluster compositions from three of the
LEAST lackluster performers ever to grace a rock band. Let's take the
lead track, "Unknown Soldier", for an example. It's the FIRST track on
this disc, and if I were working at a label, and an unsigned band
presented this in the hopes to get a recording contract, I'd laugh them
out of the room. The vocals are out-of-tune, and processed to hell
(courtesy of Tipton, who has definitely had better vocal moments --
more notably on his solo disc
Baptizm Of Fire). The rhythm section is solid, but there's only so much Entwistle and Powell can do to salvage this train wreck.
Wow. What a pile. I know what the link above this review says, but please...
DON'T BUY THIS ONE.
