I have to tip the cap to whoever is working this new BUCKCHERRY disc.
If you can get radio play with a song called "Crazy Bitch", that
incessantly makes graphic references to screwing all night long...then
you're officially good at your job.
When Josh Todd (check out
our interview with Josh)
released his solo disc a few years ago, it was a solid effort, but it
really didn't go anywhere, so the next logical step was to reform the
band that put him, his back tattoo, and his distinctive vocal style on
the map, and put out another collection of badass rock songs.

does just that; it combines BLACK CROWES-ish rock riffs with AC/DC
crunch, and delivers a solid collection of straight-ahead rock songs,
the likes of which, we have not seen ...well, since the last Buckcherry
disc,
Timebomb, was released.
The stand-out performances on this disc are of course, "Crazy Bitch" (the
video for which,
by the way, is outstanding...bravo to all the myspace chicks who signed
up for that gig), as well as "Out Of Line", which brings to mind their
very first single "Lit Up". Also notable are "Sorry" (a ballad which
quite frankly, despite the cliche of releasing the power ballad after
the rocking single, should be the next single) and "Brooklyn". The
whole album is a nice diversion from some of the over-produced pop we
get hit with in the U.S. lately...and for that matter, some of the
lack-luster garage acts that manage to earn recording contracts.

is full of catchy, memorable, crunchy, inked-up rock songs, and singer
Josh Todd has assembled a great crew behind him. His signature raspy
voice, by the way, has held up remarkably well and that howl (along
with the great songs) is all this band needs to reclaim their chunk of
rock n' roll real estate.
