Nuno Bettencourt, that musical chameleon-genius simply doesn’t stop and his new band DRAMAGODS
(formally known as POPULATION 1) is without a doubt his shining hour since stepping out of shadows
of EXTREME. What Nuno possesses is a vast and total grasp on power-pop songcraft along with some
of the best guitar licks this side of the ocean. While some of his previous efforts were a bit scattered
and too diverse, this disc provides us with his strongest material to date. ‘Megaton’ is a killer opener
and pretty much sets you up for the overall feel and tone of the disc. Utilizing dry, unprocessed techniques
to record the band, the instruments sound raw and in-your-face all the while retaining a highly polished
sheen throughout the proceedings. If you’re a fan of Nuno, Extreme, Foo Fighters, or just need something
new, you will LOVE this band.
