If I were able to give half ratings, this would get two and a half stars. With that said, it’s hard to screw up a dvd. Just about all band dvds are centered around live footage, or at least have a fair amount of live material available. MUSHROOMHEAD has no real live footage, but rather just video of songs being played with audio from the studio tracks over it. They have only two songs of this footage, and the rest of the dvd is made up of backstage and tour bus antics. Although some of the parts are pretty funny, it doesn’t warrant multiple viewings. Two music videos for “Sun Doesn’t Rise” and “Solitaire Unraveling” also round out the dvd. One of the more amusing parts is a section about the bands that they tour with. Mushroomhead would crash the stage while their tourmates are playing, spraying them with silly string and basically interfering with the guys trying to play. They do this to SEVENDUST, MESHUGGAH, TWISTED METHOD, MOTOGRATER, and DOPE (3 times). Diehard fans of the band would be more receptive to this release, and there are probably more dvds to come out in the future since this is volume one, and maybe they will include actual live performances to prove their abilities as a band.
