SUBNOIZE SOULJAZ
It’s funny how SUBNOIZE SOULJAZ decided to title this one
Droppin’ Bombs, because that’s exactly what it is. The opening lines of the third track say “If you ain’t down with Subnoize turn your motherfuckin’ radio off. Turn it off.”…
…So I did
Then I realized I can’t base an entire review on just 2.1 really crappy underground Rap-Rock songs, so I tried to listen to the rest of it, and what I got from it was that these guys, all of them, really like big tits, stripper poles, and beer. Can we get some people capable of writing lyrics above the High School level? I mean, back in High School this is the kind of crap I’d hear the little wannabe rappers yammering on about at their lockers. It just sounds childish when every song is about the same crap.
As a musician I can appreciate the beats, and there are some really thick, rich bass lines that I actually liked, but it’s just not enough to redeem this album. This group is pretty much the entire Suburban Noize Records lineup in different groups and combinations. I think the best part of the album came at around the 3 minute and 11 second mark (3:11) of the track “Camp Radd,” because that was when the silence finally set in and the CD was finished.
