LAST MAN STANDING
I never really thought that I’d sit down with a country record in 2006. For some reason this CD had sparked interest by the fact that it is the well known JERRY LEE LEWIS. If that wasn’t enough he teams up with a bunch of other players and them doing some duets. First up is “Rock and Roll” with Jimmy Page and what a different feel it has to it. Then BB King and it goes as far as Bruce Springsteen on “Pink Cadillac”, and the song actually sounds very cool very country. He even teams with two Rolling Stones and then Neil Young. “Travelin’ Band” is jammed out with John Fogerty and it has a different fire to it. It even is served up with Kid Rock on “Honkey Tonk Woman”. Other duets are with Robbie Robertson, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Eric Clapton, Don Henley, Kris Kristopherson and many more. This is a total novelty record and amazingly enough was a pleasant curve for a type of music I normally don’t listen to.
