THE NEW BLACK
STRAPPING YOUNG LAD toured this summer with
Ozzfest on the second stage and they released their newest effort,
The New Black. The band’s fans won’t be disappointed but it just isn’t an album that I could get into.
Some of the album was absolutely not what I listen to when it comes to metal, but other parts (“Decimator” and “Far Beyond Metal”) were great tracks. Listening to the album was an odd experience, but certainly not a bad one.
Strapping Young Lad has always been a tough band for me to get into, but I do have a soft spot for some of their work. This stays true for The New Black and it is an album that I would recommend.
